year old full service environmental lab specializing in testing drinking water, wastewater, storm water, ground water, soil and sediments.
We have a part time position open for a courier.
Alpha Labs provides sample courier service as a courtesy to its customer base of facilities throughout Northern California.
The position provides a company vehicle and the responsibilities include pickup of water and soil samples for return to the lab, delivery of sampling supplies, and possibly occasional field sampling.
Courier shifts will vary from day to day, and can start as early as 09:
30 - 10:
30 a.
m.
and generally return to the laboratory between 4:
30 - 6:
30 p.
m.
Customer pickups are scheduled Monday - Friday.
Total miles driven per day will average 125 - 200, with an average of less than 10 total stops per day.
Average work week will be 3 days, and 15 - 20 hours.
Candidates for the position MUST be able to lift ice chests containing water and/or soil samples with weight up to 50lbs and have a clean driving record.
Samples need to be loaded and offloaded from our vehicles continuously throughout the business day.
Chain-of-custody and safety protocols must be adhered to.
For all part time candidates, your availability on Mon - Wed is required.
Availability on Thursdays when needed is helpful, and Fridays will almost never be needed.
Since the schedule will vary from day to day, flexibility is important.
Routes are generally determined by 4 p.
m.
for the following business day.
