Position Overview:
The Manager, Legal Process and Research is the custodian of Bank's records and is responsible for overseeing legal process & research and check adjustments.
In addition, the manager is responsible for providing support for Branches and fulfilling requests for different internal business units, government agencies and law firms.
Ensure the services level agreement and quality meet the Bank's expectations and standards for our internal and external clients.
Role and Responsibilities Oversee and ensure processing of levies, subpoenas and other legal documents request from different government agencies and law firms, documents research for Bank's internal business units, and incoming and outgoing check adjustments that are done in a timely manner and performed in accordance with Bank's standards and procedures in compliance within regulatory guidelines.
Support Branches for Clients' needs.
Assist different business units for research in documents.
Prepare and assist for internal and external audit process and ensure to make process improvement with recommendation from Audit team when necessary.
Exercise best judgment and use resource in determining for the approaches and methodologies to solve check adjustments problems for minimizing and mitigating Bank's losses.
Manage and analyze workflow to meet service level agreement effectively.
Provide problem resolution to escalated issues.
Conduct interview hiring process, provide training to new hire and give constructive feedback to motivate associates and appraise and recognize associates with rewards for satisfactory, superior, and reliable performance.
Implement and document departmental process and procedure, update when there is change in process.
Maintain Business Contingency Plan with updated process and procedure.
Manage budget and make process improvement and efficiency for cost saving and use KPI reports to monitor department's overall performance.
Keep up with Bank's policies, standards, and regulations applicable to different business units.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years working experience in a supervisory role and 3 years working in Central Operations of the banking industry.
Strong Knowledge of legal process in levy, subpoena, search warrant required, and interbank check adjustments preferred.
Excellent analytical and research skills and ability to make sound decisions and judgement.
Knowledge of banking products and regulations relative to Central Operations business units.
General Ledger Reconciliation experience preferred.
Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Macro and Team, Snagit.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
