The ideal candidate would have teaching experience with 9-12 year olds as well as have a deep understanding and respect for the child at this stage of development.
It is also valuable to be comfortable communicating with and supporting parents.
At VMS, we value a collaborative and professional environment with families as well as with colleagues.
This position would be for the 2024-25 school year with the possibility to work in our 2024 summer program.
Key Responsibilities Offer a program that meets the emotional, physical, intellectual and social needs of both the individual student and the group.
Prepare a classroom environment that is orderly, clean and appealing and permits the student to grow and to explore.
Collaborate with the co-teacher in planning weekly lesson plans based on a curriculum outline.
Establish and maintain effective communication with parents through parent conferences, online correspondence, and on a daily informal basis.
Keep detailed records of observations and progress of each student and prepare progress reports for each child as required.
