Surveyors will navigate using a handheld GPS unit and gather field data using ESRI Field Maps.
Surveyors will collect fatalities, then process and sample specimens in the lab.
Experience with bird and bat identification is helpful, but not necessary.
Candidates interested in training to become a Detection K9 handler preferred.
Housing Provided.
Dates:
1 April 2024 - 30 November 2024.
Skills:
Wildlife Biology field experience.
Previous dog handling/training experience is a plus.
Comfortable working with minimal supervision, hiking over uneven ground in hot, cold, muddy, wet, and rainy weather, carrying up to 15 pounds of gear/supplies.
Must have AWD/4X4 vehicle (partial time and mileage will be provided).
