Program Applications Specialist

The primary functions of this position ensure the business process is in place to support the implementation of new and updated information technology systems related to clinic profile management application and its integration into patient management and scheduling processes, and integration with hardware such as VetLink kiosks. The incumbent serves as the functional expert for matters relating to this software and provides software solutions to matters related to clinic profiles, grid validation and management, and scheduling practices. Additionally, the incumbent provides training on the application packages to staff in other services, such as Patient Administration Support Service, Business Administration Service, and Clinical Services as necessary. The position also provides auditing and oversight to clinic software packages, related to scheduling and grid management, and provides analytical reports to manage and improve the clinical processes that utilize the applications. The incumbent's duties include but are not limited to:
Position provides auditing and oversight to clinic software packages, related to scheduling and grid management, and provides analytical reports to manage and improve the clinical processes that utilize the applications. Abilities to analyze, evaluate and make recommendations on major aspects of all assigned VISTA and commercial off the shelf computer packages. Provide technical direction and education, as necessary, to ensure clinics operate as required for patient care, that they accurately reflect clinician availability, and provide audit for potential compliance issues as clinics are reviewed, modified, or created. Knowledge of the service software is required in training employees, identifying inconsistencies, discussions with management of capabilities of computer software feasibly toward meeting objectives. Provides business oversight for a variety of software programs integral to the overall administration and operations of clinical and clinical support services. Expected to have an in-depth understanding of the complexities of application software and clinic set up. Provide primary oversight of service-level clinic profile builders to ensure appropriate use of applications and to audit their work for accurate application execution of clinic grid creation and management. Problem solver with the special ability to integrate overall knowledge of the service system with VISTA applications and to be innovative in the process. Trains users in resolving minor processing and application problems. Work Schedule:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
